What is Title l?

Title l is a federally funded program. It provides supplemental assistance to students who are not meeting grade level expectations at that time. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade are eligible for Title l literacy and math support services in RSU #71. Eligibility is based on their most recent assessment scores and teacher observations.  Only students who meet the eligibility requirements are identified for Title l services under the Title l guidelines receive Title l services. Title l teachers and staff collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to tailor instruction to best meet the specific needs of the student. Title l services are supplemental to classroom instruction. Title l is not a Special Education program.
